It was a compilation album with most of the band's well-known songs -- basically a "best of" collection. A Volume 2 was planned, but never released. There has been some debate as to exactly what was supposed to be on the second volume.

  6. "Straight to Hell" is a song by the Clash, from their album Combat Rock. It was released as a double A-side single with "Should I Stay or Should I Go" on 17 September in 12" and 7" vinyl format (the 7" vinyl is also available as a picture disc.
  7. Appears identical to The Story Of The Clash Volume 1 in disc artwork, packaging, matrices etc, however this version includes the code CDM in a circle under the LC code on the rear artwork. Comes in 2cd 'fatbox' jewel case with picture front & back trays & 16 page booklet/5(10).
