In some ways, the double-disc, track compilation The Story of the Clash, Vol. 1 does its job quite well -- if the job is indeed presenting a relatively thorough overview for casual fans. The great majority of the band's hits and signature tunes are here, including album tracks and such non-LP singles as "Bankrobber," "Armagideon Time," and "Capital Radio," albeit in nonchronological order.8/

A Volume 2 was planned, but never released. There has been some debate as to exactly what was supposed to be on the second volume.

"Straight to Hell" is a song by the Clash, from their album Combat Rock. It was released as a double A-side single with "Should I Stay or Should I Go" on 17 September in 12" and 7" vinyl format (the 7" vinyl is also available as a picture disc.

Appears identical to The Story Of The Clash Volume 1 in disc artwork, packaging, matrices etc, however this version includes the code CDM in a circle under the LC code on the rear artwork. Comes in 2cd 'fatbox' jewel case with picture front & back trays & 16 page booklet/5(10).
